Your Stories
|
Stories is made up of contributions by a range of real people who have chosen to express their experience with depression through story, poetry, or artwork. If you would like to contribute to 'Stories' please read about the contribution process. Contribution Process Of the large number of valued contributions that come through to depressioNet, only a select number of these can be placed onto the website due to the limited amount of available space. To effectively manage the contributions we receive and to encourage contributions that genuinely help others, we ask that all contributions meet the following criteria: Criteria 1. Contributions must fall under one of the following categories:
2. Contributions are specifically focused on depression and anxiety related experiences and issues. 3. Contributions comprise of unique and original work that displays the feelings, emotions and struggles you are going through. 4. Contributions omit the graphic portrayal of suicide and self-harm. 5. Stories and poetry must keep to a 300 word limit including an introduction of 40 words at most. Artwork must be presented in a JPEG, GIF or PSD computer file. Furthermore, contributors must keep in mind: 1. There is a limit of three contributions per member at any given time. If you have already contributed three items, any further contributions must replace a previous one. 2. Contributions will have an automatic expiry date in place after a period of 12 months. You are welcome to resubmit these contributions after this time. This is to ensure that we manage the volume of contributions as well as empower members to decide whether they would like to have their pieces up for a short time while they work through their struggle, or for the long term in helping others. 3. depressioNet reserves the right to edit, modify or omit any contribution that is graphic in nature, repetitive or not specifically focused on depression or anxiety. 4. Prior to submitting your contribution, please ensure that it is readable and understandable. We may edit your work for grammar (not meaning) before publishing on the site. If you believe your contribution meets all of the above criteria, please email it to team@depressionet.com.au for review. You will then be contacted with the outcome of the selection process.
