Holistic approach to recovery from depression Know persons on drugs for depression or been there yourself?
One in four Australians are being treated chemically for depression. This talk offers you the alternatives: holistic counselling in tandem with complementary therapies.
"Drugs, depression, suicide" An exploration of the latest research showing the serious adverse consequences of drugs particularly SSRI's in the treatment of depression for children, adolescents and adults. Alternatives to drugging persons for depression are considered.

Course: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is an educational course designed to show participants how to bring formal and informal mindfulness practices (including meditation and yoga) into everyday life as a way of managing change and difficult times with greater ease. It is especially beneficial for those experiencing stress, anxiety and depression.

GROW Support Groups
GROW support groups are held across Australia. Groups meet weekly and involve a 12 step program. GROW offers anonymity and confidentiality to group members. Group meetings are small and are run by members.

Postnatal Depression Support Group
8 week support group for women who have had a baby in the last 12 months, and are not coping or have been diagnosed with PND. The Course is facilitated by a registered psychologist, who is also available for individual counselling.

HEAD HELD HIGH "Living Beyond Suicide"
This group is only for young people who have already lost a loved one, friend, school-mate or work colleague to suicide. Its aim is to provide a place for youth to be able to express their feelings in an open environment without being embarrassed/shy by the presence of their parents for example, and to share with others who have experienced a similar loss. A professional facilitator guides the group and it is free to attend.
