Try contacting your local community centre, council or mental health service for appropriate support groups in your area.
2COPE – Support Group
A confidential ongoing support group of caring, compassionate people, who share, listen and learn from all life experiences. The group is sponsored by the Ulladulla Community Resource Centre and has been running since 2006. Group meetings include free afternoon tea.

Dubbo Mental Health Carers Support Group
A support group for families and friends of people living mental health problems.
Where: Norton Unit Meeting Room, Lourdes Hospital, Cobborah Rd, Dubbo NSW 2830

GROW Support Groups
GROW support groups are held across Australia. Groups meet weekly and involve a 12 step program. GROW offers anonymity and confidentiality to group members. Group meetings are small and are run by members.

W.I.L.M.A. Womens Health Centre in Campbelltown
Fortnightly depression support group "From Woe to Go". Also currently running a Self Esteem course, CSA Support Group, Meditation, Tai-chi, Yoga, Writing and Craft courses. They also have counsellors by appointment. Fees are either free or nominal and they have limited free child minding at the Centre.

Workshops/Activities/Courses/Programs
This new program will have eastern Sydney locals walking and talking their way to good health. It’s about building community and improving mental and physical health at the same time. The program offers a place to build self-awareness, interpersonal, communication and relationship skills in a safe environment. Along the way, witnessing the success of others will instil hope. Where: Meets at the Randwick Literary Centre at 60 Clovelly Road for the first hour, then walks in Centennial Park for the second hour.
When: Weekly Saturday meetings for eight weeks and members are encouraged to Walk and Talk with each other between sessions, applying the skills of healing conversation.

Workshops At The Happiness Institute
The Happiness Institute runs various workshops throughout the year. We typically run the "HAPPINESS - STRATEGIES FOR A GREAT LIFE" course a few times throughout the year and offer you the option of attending the whole series of workshops that make up the course or one of the individual workshops in the course, each listed separately below. To synergise the benefits and maximise the impact, we strongly recommend participation in the full 5 session course as the skills complement and reinforce each other and when used together. They will enable you to achieve your goals faster.

The Calm Life Skills Seminar Sandy McGregor
Skills to help overcome depression. Sandy McGregor is an ordinary Australian who has overcome extraordinary challenges in his life and now teaches other people the skills that helped him. He is a Vietnam Veteran and father of 6 children, 3 of whom were killed by an intruder in their own home in 1987.
