NRI's NRI’s are designed to act selectively on the brain chemical noradrenaline rather than serotonin. The medication does not produce more noradrenaline in the brain, instead it allows specific receptors to immerse in the noradrenaline that is already produced in the brain. NRIs are less likely to produce the side effect of drowsiness in comparison to most other antidepressant classes.
