NaSSA's

NaSSA’s are a new class of antidepressants that work by blocking certain receptors that normally inhibit the release of the neurotransmitters noradrenaline and serotonin.  NaSSA’s are considered to have fewer side effects than TCA’s and SSRI’s while being equally effective.

Positive results may be seen in 2 - 4 weeks, however, administration of medication is required for 4 - 6 months or longer to ensure the benefits last.

To read about others personal experiences with these antidepressants visit the Medications section of the depressioNet forums.  These accounts are personal and all experiences are different and should not be replaced by the advice of your Healthcare Professional.
