Research Projects
BIPOLAR DISORDER
depressioNet.com.au is committed to helping research into any aspect of depression.
A clinical psychologist working with the Cade Clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital and in private practice in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs is
currently seeking adolescents to participate in research into bipolar disorder in two projects:
1) Functional neuroimaging in bipolar disorder; this study is attempting to replicate work we have conducted in adults with bipolar disorder. We have found differences in neural responses to affect and empathy in adults with bipolar and would like to find out more about these constructs in adolescents.
In order to take part in this study a participant would attend a one hour appointment at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital with travel expenses paid.
2) Psychological interventions for adolescents with bipolar disorder: In this study we are investigating whether early psychological intervention,
targeted at adolescents with bipolar disorder, produces better outcomes .
We have designed a state of the art treatment which is billable under Medicare and are currently seeking participants who would be
available to attend once-weekly therapy sessions.
If you know of anyone who may be interested in participating in either of these studies, please
email us and we will be able to put you in touch with the clinical psychologist for further information.
