There are a number of conditions that may present with depression as a symptom, or as a key component of an illness. 
 
We have included information on these conditions in this section as the cause of depression will vary from person to person, and many people with depression will also experience symptoms aside from those listed under ‘What is Depression?’, for example, anxiety disorders and depression will often go hand-in-hand.
