Registering with dNet

Thursday, 01 March 2007

It is important to understand that becoming registered with depressioNet is not about advertising. In fact it's really about the opportunity to participate in a special and unique community. Many people living with depression find it difficult to reach out for help so as a result we have developed the following goals:

  • To reduce the reticence people experience in seeking help, by increasing the probability of finding a qualified practitioner who is experienced in treating depression and is empathetic in their treatment approach
  • To build a community of likeminded professionals where there is a 'people like us' culture and the common purpose is to 'empower people faced with the challenges of depression'
  • To increase understanding of where and how holistic and natural therapies can be used appropriately and successfully in a depression treatment plan

Prospective applicants need to be appropriately qualified in their field and have an open mind.
