The Healthcare Professional Advisory Team

The Healthcare Professional Advisory Team will represent a range of relevant disciplines that help to treat depression.

The overall goals of the depressioNet HPAT are:

  • To provide technical expertise and support to depressioNet
  • To assist us in keeping our information current
  • To facilitate information sharing amongst disciplines
  • To assist in various projects by agreement

There are 3 levels to HPAT. To view the roles, responsibilities and particular criteria for each level, please click on the following link: HPAT Roles and Responsibilities.

General Selection Criteria

To be selected for all levels of HPAT, you must be able to answer 'YES' to the following questions:

1. Have you or someone you care about been affected by depression?

2. Would you like to apply your experience, skills and qualifications to helping people living with depression?

3. Are you open minded and respectful of others opinions?

4. Are you internet and email savvy?

You must be able to demonstrate that you have appropriate:

1. Qualification/s

2. Current Membership/s

3. Insurance

You must be registered with depressioNet
(applications for exemption will be considered if you are no-longer treating clients or only see clients part-time)

You must also be able to demonstrate at least 4 of the following personal characteristics:

1. Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

2. Enthusiasm for the cause

3. Team orientation

4. Ability to deal with potential conflict in a professional manner

5. Problem solving ability

6. Attention to detail

7. Ability to get things done

8. Leadership skills

Application Process

Your application should include:

1. The HPAT level you would like to join (Committee, Workgroup)

2. Reason's for wishing to be a member of the HPAT Committee or Workgroup and how you would like to contribute (1-2 paragraphs)

3. Details of relevant background and experience (1-2 paragraphs, this might include relevant articles written by you, conferences where you have spoken if applicable)

4. Time available to commit per month
