Welcome to depressioNet!

depressioNet supports people living with depression by providing comprehensive web-based information, help and 24/7 peer support. This includes providing referral information to ‘depression friendly' healthcare professionals who are qualified and experienced in helping people with depression. For more information on the services depressioNet provides to its users please read the following information.

Introduction to depressioNet services

Exciting new developments are happening at depressioNet which relate to our Healthcare Professional Members.  In addition to growing our database of professionals we are also establishing opportunities for healthcare professionals to get involved with depressioNet and participate in our community.  New initiatives include the development of a Healthcare Professional Advisory Team (HPAT) and a new (private) Healthcare Professional Community Forum.

depressioNet is staffed by volunteers and paid employees who relate to our 'people like us' culture and our purpose of 'empowering people to make informed choices and find solutions to the challenges of living with depression.  We are not healthcare professionals ourselves, however, we welcome participation from qualified healthcare professionals who relate to or understand the depressioNet culture and purpose.

ONLINE PEER SUPPORT

Around the clock online peer support for you to talk about depression in a safe, supportive and anonymous environment  depressioNet provides information, help and peer support to people in the community impacted by depression. The peer support service is facilitated through an email service, message boards and live chat.
Peer Support at depressioNet operates 24 hours a day, please remember that we are not a professional mental health service and cannot provide emergency assistance.
