Wendy Lee
Consulting Psychologist
Psychange

Specialising in:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety/Stress/Worry
  • Life transition & adjustment issues

Feelings of depression can occur in response to a number of different situations in people’s lives.  Some of these situations include:

  • prolonged periods of stress, anxiety and worry;
  • life transitions (e.g., birth of a baby, retirement);
  • relationship difficulties;
  • grief/bereavement;
  • unresolved situations from the past (e.g., childhood abuse) and
  • work-related problems.

Wendy offers her clients therapy approaches that have been demonstrated by research evidence to be effective for depression and anxiety.  She will work with you to identify how you would like your life to change and help you to explore new ways of looking at, and approaching, the problem situations that you are trying to deal with.

Choosing to get help for depression and/or anxiety often feels like a big step to take.  The good news is that when people do take that first step and ask for help they often feel a great deal of relief.  Wendy understands how important it is to feel comfortable with the person that you choose to help you at this time.  Being able to trust and feel at ease with your psychologist or counsellor is an important part of any psychological treatment.

Wendy is pleased to offer you the opportunity to have one or more brief telephone appointments with her prior to booking a face-to-face appointment. This will enable you to experience for yourself Wendy’s approach to therapy.  This will enable you to make an informed choice about whether her approach is the right one for you.  Telephone appointments are available for both Perth metropolitan and regional clients.

Wendy finds it very satisfying to be able to share her 14 years experience as a psychologist to assist clients to move forward with their lives.  Her particular interest in the treatment of depression began during her work in a specialist mood disorders treatment unit (which is now part of the Black Dog Institute in Sydney).  She has also conducted research into the effect of depression on how people think.  She would welcome the opportunity to assist you to feel better about your self, your life and your future.
