I have had over seven years of experience in the field of counselling, behavioural therapy and psychological assessment.  I work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, concerning many different issues.  To name a few, I have had experience with issues of depression, stress and anxiety, trauma, family and relationship problems, weight and eating problems as well as assisting people to develop more confidence and self-esteem.
My approach is primarily Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in which I use specific strategies to help clients understand how their thoughts influence their feelings and behaviour, and how they can use this knowledge to make changes in their lives.  I am also influenced by Solution-Focused Therapy which involves helping clients use their own resources and successes to manage their current problems more effectively.
