I have been a Psychologist in private practice for more than 15 years.  My previous career was as a school teacher in both primary and secondary schools.
In my private practice I work primarily with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety and trauma and couples and families dealing with relationship breakdown or other life crisis issues.

My approach is usually Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which aims to assist individuals identify distorted patterns of thinking, unhelpful behaviours and damaging ways of relating and to replace theses with more effective coping styles.

Where appropriate, hypnotherapy, EMDR, stress management and relaxation training are included in treatment.

My goal is to provide high quality, professional counselling in a supportive and caring environment.

My experience includes:

  • assisting adults and teenagers understand and deal with the emotional, psychological and behavioural impact of trauma including sexual abuse, domestic abuse, physical assault, murder, road accidents, etc.
  • helping individuals deal with relationship breakdown and the associated psychological distress.
  • helping people understand the impact of stress and to develop more effective coping strategies.
  • assisting individuals experiencing grief and loss.

  • BA - Psychology
  • T.P.T.C.
  • Graduate Diploma in Educational Counselling
