Specialising in:
I am a registered psychologist and an approved counsellor with the Victims Assistance Service and Workcover. For thirteen years I provided counselling in various community agencies and for the past six years I have been in private practice. My work roles have included: generalist counsellor; sexual abuse and domestic violence counsellor; family counsellor; adolecent/parent mediator; drug and alcohol counsellor; adoption information (reunion) counsellor; and student counsellor in a university counselling service. These positions have involved counselling with individuals (adults, children and adolescents), couples and families and the facilitation of a range of therapeutic/support groups. My Approach To Counselling Underpinning my work is a belief in the uniqueness of each person and their experience and also in the human capacity for growth and development. My approach is respectful and accepting. I see counselling as a collaborative process in which clients are both encouraged and challenged to develop new and creative ways of dealing with life issues. My counselling is conducted in an interactive/conversational manner.
