Many years of counselling experience and managing the delivery of structured exercise programs for Vietnam Veterans highlighted the link between a person's psychological and physical wellbeing and Doug applies this approach to counselling.

Doug focuses on the unity of the mind and body in response to intrusive emotions, particularly depression.  He works with you to help you understand how the patterns of depression present in your body; and with you, develops practical strategies for noticing and managing your physical reactions and stabilising your thoughts and emotions.  He also helps you recognise overlooked competencies which can be used in your recovery and future wellbeing.

Doug conducts groups combining therapy, exercise and body awareness, with participants reporting improved psychological and emotional changes as well as better physical health. 

Doug also provides Online and telephone counselling and support .

Doug is a registered Medicare provider so that you are  able to receive a rebate, if you have been referred by a General Practitioner, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician, who has developed a Mental Health Care Plan for you.

  • Bachelor of Social Work (Hons)
  • Accredited Mental Health Worker under Medicare
