CHRISTINE DENNY
Clinical Psychologist

Specialising in:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Grief
  • Relationship Difficulties

I have practised as a clinical psychologist since 1991, having obtained a masters degree in clinical psychology from the Flinders University of South Australia.  I have been registered as a psychologist in Victoria since 1988 and am a longstanding member of the Australian Psychological Society as well as a Clinical College Member.
I find it very rewarding assisting people to overcome their psychological difficulties and I practise in a sensitive manner which demonstrates respect for others.  Typically I see individuals with a variety of problems, such as anxiety, (eg; phobias, panic attacks); depression, relationship difficulties, grief and loss and high stress levels.  My preferred approach is cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which focuses on changing peoples’ feelings and behaviours by challenging their thoughts.

I have had excellent success using this method, which is applicable to the majority of psychological disorders.  One of the advantages of CBT is that relatively few sessions are usually required for significant improvement to occur, in contrast to come other approaches, which may require extended periods of therapy.

In addition to my private practice, I work part-time in the public mental health system, where the team in which I am employed specialises in assessing people with anxiety and depression.  My background has been in the state health system (i.e. hospitals and clinics) as well as the corporate sector, in which I performed detailed psychological assessments and organised stress management courses.

I am able to see people on two days per week in my CBD location and I offer lunchtime appointments for city workers.  I am happy to discuss a matter prior to an appointment being made, to assist in clarifying any issues which may exist with regards to the suitability of psychological treatment.

I can be contacted via telephone on: 9654 0919 or This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it , via this website.
