This survey is open to adults aged between 18 - 65 years and requires participants to complete a questionnaire.

You are invited to participate in an online survey from psychology researchers at Macquarie University.  Ann Boonzaier and Dr. Andrew Baillie are interested in what people believe about the causes of mental health problems.

The survey is for people aged 18-65 years and involves doing some short questionnaires on the causes and treatment of mental illness, which take about 30 minutes.  All those who participate are eligible to enter a $50 prize draw.

The research is only open to citizens or residents of Australia.  To find out more, please click here and click on the survey called 'Lay beliefs about mental health'.

Any information or personal details gathered in the course of the study are confidential. Only the researcher, Ann Boonzaier and her supervisor, Dr. Andrew Baillie, will have access to the data collected. No individual will be identified in any publication of the results.  All information and personal details gathered in the course of the study will be kept in locked cabinets in Ann Boonzaier's office at Macquarie University.  This project is supported by the Department of Psychology Research Grant.

If you have any questions about this research project or you wish to discuss some issues that it raises personally for you, please contact Ann Boonzaier or Dr. Andrew Baillie (Lecturer, Psychology Department, Macquarie University, Tel: (02) 9850 9436), who are qualified psychologists. Alternatively, you can phone LifeLine (Tel: 131114).  Lifeline is a free counselling service that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
